The base covers the data for the time from 1947 up to the current year, given in per annum values. The base excludes the data relative to Kosovo and Metohija and therefore the collective data for the Republic of Serbia are not comparable with previous publications (with statistical yearbooks and separates up to 1998, as well as with the book Serbian Agriculture, 1947 – 1996).

Aiming to maintain comparability, this data base refers to the Republic of Serbia and is expressed in time series from 1947 up to the current year, excluding data on Kosovo and Metohia, that is, the presented data show the sum of data for Central Serbia and Vojvodina.
Data on number of livestock and livestock turnover, as well as data on livestock production, cover livestock fund in agricultural enterprises and agricultural co-operatives, private holdings and households.
Due to harmonization with European standards and recommendations, livestock sample survey, which provides data on the number of livestock and livestock production in private holdings and households, has been, since 2006, carried out on December 1st (instead of January 15th), also including the changes that refer to livestock categorization.
The bases of the methodology of livestock statistics were published within the edition “Methodological Papers” (FSO), No. 67, 77, 86, 98, 118, 190, 199, 358 and in the edition “Methodological Standards” (SORS), No. 11.
